WASH and Health Program

Throughout the CHT, many communities do not have access to safe health, water and sanitation facilities. We provide new technologies and community health facilities, working to prevent common diseases, and eradicate the health problems brought by unclean drinking water and poor sanitation. We also raise awareness of health and hygiene issues, mobilising communities to change their behavior, and improve their health. Since our establishment we have been implementing projects under health and WASH programs are as bellows-

Hygiene Promotion Sanitation and Water Supply

For the period, 1 October 2013 to 30 June 2015, TUS was engaged in partnership with HYSAWA Company and Union Parishad to implement the Hygiene Promotion Sanitation and Water Supply toward achieving purpose to promote hygiene practices at community level. Through this project, TUS covered 02 unions at Bhaibonchara and Maisechari in Khagrachari District.

International Citizen’s Service

For the period, 01 September 2013 to 31 October 2014, TUS was engaged in partnership with Voluntary Service Overseas(VSO), Bangladesh, to implement International Citizen’s Service toward achieving purpose of promotion of hygiene practices through community volunteerism driven by youth clubs. Through this project, TUS cover 03 villages, namely Upper Perachara, Pailot Para and Kamalchari in Kamalchari union.

Community Managed Water & Sanitation Supply Program(phase-2)

For the period, 01 July 2009 to 30 June 2013, TUS was engaged in partnership with NGO forum for DWSS, to implement the Community Managed Water and Sanitation Supply Program for the rural poor communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (2nd phase) toward achieving purpose ‘to reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases, contributing to an improvement in public health conditions of the rural poor in the Chittagong Hill Tracts’ Through this project, TUS covered 52 villages in Panchari Upazila.

Hygiene Promotion Sanitation and Water Supply (HYSAWA)

For the period, 01 October 2009 to 31 December 2010, TUS was engaged in partnership with CHT HYSAWA FUND-DANIDA, to implement the Hygiene Promotion Sanitation and Water Supply (HYSAWA) toward achieving purpose ‘to improve the health of peoples of the Chittagong Hill Tracts through improved hygiene, sanitation, and safe water practices and provisions' Through this project, TUS covered 100 villages, 50 villages in Khagrachari Sadar Upazilla and 50 villages in Mohalchari Upazilla.

Community Managed Water & Sanitation Supply Program(phase-1)

For the period, 01 December 2004 to 30 June 2007, TUS was engaged in partnership with NGO forum for DWSS, to implement the Community Managed Water and Sanitation Supply Program for the rural poor communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (phase-1) toward achieving purpose ‘to improve the health systems of poor communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts through preventing waterborne diseases’. Through this project, TUS covered 07 villages in Panchari and Khagrachri Sadar Upazila.

Community Health Development Program (CHDP)

For the period, 01 August 2003 to 31 October 2005, TUS was engaged in partnership with DANIDA, to implement the Community Health Development Program (CHDP) toward achieving purpose to improve the community health conditions for socio-economic development of people in Matiranga Upazila. Through this project, TUS covered 10 villages in Matiranga Upazila.
